Login Issues
Having trouble logging into NorthSignal? Here are the most common causes and solutions.
1. Popup Blocker Is Active
NorthSignal uses a Google OAuth popup for authentication. If your browser blocks popups, the login window will never appear.
The Fix:
- Check your browser's address bar for a "popup blocked" icon.
- Click it and select "Always allow popups from app.northsignal.cloud".
- Try the login again.
2. Ad Blocker / Privacy Extension Interference
Some browser extensions (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, etc.) can interfere with OAuth redirects.
The Fix:
- Temporarily disable ad blockers or privacy extensions.
- Alternatively, add
app.northsignal.cloudandaccounts.google.comto your extension's allowlist. - Retry the login.
3. Third-Party Cookies Disabled
Google OAuth requires third-party cookies in some browsers. If they're completely blocked, authentication may fail silently.
The Fix:
- Go to your browser's Privacy/Cookie Settings.
- Ensure third-party cookies are not fully blocked (or add an exception for Google).
- Retry the login.
4. Test with Incognito / Private Mode
If none of the above work, try logging in via an Incognito / Private Browsing window. This temporarily disables all extensions and uses default cookie settings, which helps isolate the issue.
- Chrome:
Ctrl+Shift+N - Firefox:
Ctrl+Shift+P - Safari:
Cmd+Shift+N
If login works in incognito, the issue is caused by an extension or cookie setting in your normal browser.
